To use your phone to connect to the Internet, you need to have a Bluetooth modem installed on your PC. When a Bluetooth stack is installed on your PC, a standard modem driver is usually installed automatically together with the stack. Also, if you have Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth, the Bluetooth modem driver is already installed. To check if you have a standard modem installed, go to Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options.
You can use the standard modem driver instead of adding a Nokia Bluetooth modem driver for your phone model, but with Nokia modem driver you can fully utilise the data moving capabilities of your phone.
Each Nokia phone model uses a different modem so you need to install a modem driver for each phone model that you want to use as a modem. The Bluetooth modem driver .inf files are copied on your PC when you install Nokia PC Suite, so when you want to install a modem driver you can see the file in the installation window. If you cannot find the modem file for your phone, you can download it from your phone model’s web pages in www.nokia.com/nokiaxxxx (where xxxx is the model number of the phone), see link for support pages.
