PAGASA Tracks LPA to be 17th Typhoon QUINTA in 24 HRS.

PAGASA 17th Typhoon QUINTA 3 Days Forecast Track as of Dec. 27, 2012, 10 am

PAGASA sighted LPA (Low Pressure Area), now a typhoon, in the vicinity of Pacijan Island, Cebu as of 4 am December 26, 2012. It is previously embedded along the ITCZ (InterTropical Convergence Zone) affecting Mindanao.

Previous LPA had intensified into a typhoon in the last 24 hours and named "QUINTA", the 17th typhoon that entered Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) for 2012.

The weather disturbance originates but traverse a different path with typhoon PABLO that cause havoc in Mindanao last December 2-11, 2012 leaving thousands of deaths and billions of damages to properties and agriculture.

Luzon: Sorsogon, Masbate and Ticao Island
Visayas: Northern/Eastern/Western Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Bohol, Cebu, Camotes Island, Northern part of Negros Occidental.
Mindanao: Dinagat Province

Luzon: Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Cuyo Island, Burias Island and Romblon
Visayas: Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Rest of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor
Mindanao: Camiguin, Surigao del Norte and Siargao

Strength: 65 kph near center

Gustiness: 80 kph

Movement: West at 20 kph

(3) 450 km West of Coron Palawan - Friday

Landfall: Leyte - December 26, Coron Palawan - December 27
