Samsung with 30.4%, Apple 19.4% and Nokia - 5% Smartphone Worldwide Market Share |
According to Strategy Analytic's, global vendor Samsung top number 1 in smartphones shipment this 2012, with record breaking 231 million smartphones shipment worldwide converting to 30% market share.
Previous record was Nokia shipping 100 million units in 2010.
Apple came in second with 135 million shipments (19.4% market share) and Nokia on third with 35 million shipped units (5% market share)
Despite competition, Samsung deliver numerous models from Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to affordable Galaxy Y, Apple with iPhone line up and Nokia's with ASHA and windows phone.
Overall, global shipments of smartphones slowed down from 64% (2011) to 43% (2012) as penetration of smartphones from North America and Western Europe began to mature.
