| Let Us All Join the EARTH HOUR this coming March 23, 2013, 8:30 - 9:30 PM |
This year's Earth Hour Switch OFF is scheduled March 23, from 8:30 - 9:30 pm. It aims to encourage more than 10 million participants in the Philippines to switch off their lights for the environment.
Since 2009, the Philippines has been one of staunchest supporters of Earth Hour. Every year, Globe Telecom joins millions of household and businesses around the world in turning off their lights for 1 hour to raise awareness on climate change.
But this time, the company wants to do more and challenging employees and subscribers to make small changes on their personal lifestyle at least for a week from March 25 - April 1, 2013.
Anyone who cares for the environment can participate in the simple experiment by veering away from their usual daily routines such as:
1. Taking public transportation instead of using your own car
2. Avoiding the use of plastic bags
3. Growing vegetables in your backyard
4. Switching to online versions of newspapers
5. Watching less TV
6. Unplugged all electronics equipment when not in use
7. Eliminating paper products and
8. Hanging clothes instead of using dryer.
Individually, the effort may not seem significant but it could create a huge impact on the environment when done collectively.
Let us join Globe Earth Hour and Beyond and help to save our environment and our planet future.
