The battle of affordable dual-core powered entry level Android phones from our local mobile brand Cherry Mobile, MyPhone and Starmobile flooded the market on the last quarter of 2012. Although Global mobile brands offers Filipinos with dual-core powered droids, still it ranges from P10K and above - a bit more expensive.

Recently, latest affordable dual-core Android phones from Chinese OEM Lenovo (A800) and Huawei (Ascend Y300) marks the beginning of war between Global mobile brands and Local brands and will Filipinos patronize our own product.

Cherry Mobile dual core Android phones dominated the Philippine market with price ranging from P4K-8K. MyPhone dual-core line up at P6K-8K and StarMobile from P7K-9K. Torque released its lone dual-core ATOM to join the battle lately this March 2013 - better late than never.

The battle of the cheapest vs cheapest dual-core Android phones for 2013 includes: Cherry Mobile FLARE and BURST (both P3,999), MyPhone A848i DUO (P5,990), StarMobile ASTRA (P6,990), Torque Droidz ATOM (P4,999) and Cloudfone Thrill 430x (P7,777).

Price: Huawei Ascend Y300 is priced at P5,490 while Lenovo A800 is selling at P6,999. A price difference of almost P1,500.

The first thing you will notice is the affordability of Huawei Ascend Y300 powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor on Android Jelly Bean, that's already a steal compared to Lenovo A800.

Looking a little deeper, Lenovo A800 is powered by MediaTek MT6577 Cortex-A9 processor while Ascend Y300 on MSM8225 Cortex-A5 processor. Another one is the screen size, Lenovo is a little bigger compared to Ascend Y300 plus a higher rated battery capacity justify its higher price.
