The two companies announced to collaborate to introduced hybrid storage devices that features best in class flash memory technology from SanDisk and best in class hard drive technology from Western Digital (WD).
SanDisk will be supplying SanDisk iSSD for WD Black - world's thinnest 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drives. SanDisk iSSD features low power consumption, balance performance, reliability and compact form factor.
SanDisk iSSD is built on 19 nanometer (19nm) process technology - world's smallest and most advanced manufacturing process.
World's Thinnest 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drives
Together with small form factor of WD Black SSDHs, it offers consumers with high capacity and high level of performance. than traditional hard disk drives, including increased speed, instant ON and faster application launching.
The WD Black 5mm SSDHs are shipping to OEMs. WD is also currently shipping to OEM Ultra-Slim, 7mm and 9.5mm SSHDs for portable devices.
