Join the PH Transit App Challenge - Mechanics and Prizes

Join the Philippine Transit App Challenge and win P100K plus a nomination to Mobile Premier Award 2014 in Barcelona. Awards ceremony will be on October 15, 2013

Department of Transport and Communication (DOTC) in partnership with MMDA and Cebu City Government is having a "Philippine Transit App Challenge" open to all app creators (developers, designers and users with ideas).

You are to develop App based on two new kinds of publicly available data. (1) regularly updated geographic location and service information for all bus, jeepney and rail routes in Metro Manila, (2) live traffic incident data streams in Manila and Cebu.

The competition will be a 3 month long hack-at-home event which allows software developers to create apps at their own pace. Launch event will be on July 2, 2013

Mechanics:
1. Open to all App creators
2. Understand the problem statement and start developing your App to solve them
3. Build your App at home with the help of experts
4. Enter the Online Competition

Prizes:
1. Best Transit App (P100,000 plus nomination to Mobile Premier Award 2014 in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress).
2. Honorary Awards (Inclusive Technology Award, Transport Agency Award and Open Community Award).
3. Most Voted App - people's choice App
