Both Kaspersky Internet Security and Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security blocks 100% of malicious attack in Real-World Protection Test conducted by international test lab AV comparatives last May 2013.
Another security vendor that caught my attention is Avast! FREE Antivirus which blocks 99.3% of malicious attacks. AVG Internet Security rank second to the last with 94.2% and AhnLab V3 Internet Security at 93.3%.
What is Real World Protection Test?
The Real-World Protection Test aims to measure the ability of security or anti-virus solutions to withstands attacks that emulate real-world conditions such as web surfing and use of App like Java, Flash and Adobe Reader.
The test consist of 569 infection scenarios using various vulnerabilities and malware sample and only both Kaspersky and Trend Micro got a perfect protection out of 21 security vendor.
The test were performed on machine with Intel Core i5-3350 CPU and 4GB of RAM, updated MS Wndows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit system with installed anti-virus software (default settings). The test is also done with internet connection to simulate cloud services and features.
Real-World Protection Test framework was recognized by "Standortagentur Tirol" with the 2012 "Cluster Award for Innovation in Computer Science".
