Batman v. Superman Film Gets An Official Title

The official title of the 2016 Batman vs. Superman film, which stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman, will officially be called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Based on the title, I think it’s obvious this is the film that will kick off DC’s Justice League movies for years to come.

I mean, Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, is also confirmed for the Batman. vs. Superman movie, while Ray Fisher has been confirmed to play the role of Cyborg. The Avengers will have some big competition in the coming years, though the Justice League films will have plenty of catching up to do.

Plot details are still light, though most of the attention surrounding the film has been over Ben Affleck’s casting of Batman. However, some of the public outcry has died down after director Zack Snyder shared an awesome picture of Affleck in the Batman costume. The Batmobile looks incredible, and Affleck certainly has the physique necessary to portray the caped crusader. People still aren’t convinced of his screen presence, however; it was always going to be hard following in the footsteps of Christian Bale.

Information and media has slowly leaked out since the movie’s announcement, and it appears everything is coming into place quite nicely. In addition to Affleck and Cavill as the titular heroes, Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) is set to play as Lex Luthor, Superman’s biggest archenemies. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
