Apple introduced its new MacBook Pro laptop on Thursday. There are actually several models to choose from, including three variations of the 13-inch model and two variations of the 15-inch model. To make room for all of those products, Apple killed off the 11-inch MacBook Air.
It might be missed. While it’s far from the most powerful laptop in the family and still lacked a Retina display, it was also the most affordable laptop. Now, buyers will need to opt for the $1,299 entry-level MacBook. That’s kind of a bummer for students or folks who were looking to get a MacBook without trying to break the bank. My suspicion is that was a huge part of the 11-inch MacBook Air buyer base.
RIP 11-inch MacBook Air.
