Files needed:
-Windows Drivers for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2
I'm using windows 10 and it worked fine but you might need to install the Mi Phone manager application from Xiaomi
-Android Debug Bridge - ADB Allows you to send commands to unrooted devices
-Fastboot -Modifies Phone Firmware
-TWRP
-SuperSU -for Rooting
Rough written instructions:
-Connect Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 to the computer and verify if the computer reconizes the phone and you can copy files to the phone. -If you can't you will need to find the drivers for the phone.
-Copy the SuperSU file to the phone storage
-Power off the Phone
-Press and hold the Power Button and the Volume Down Button -the -Fastboot logo should come up
-Extract the ADB and Fastboot files to one directory and also copy the TWRP image/rom to the directory
-On the computer start a command prompt to the directory with the files and enter the command "fastboot flash recovery RedmiNote2.img"
-Replace the file name RedmiNote2 with what ever the name of the TWRP file
-Press Enter
-Enter command "fastboot reboot"
-Press Enter - Phone will reboot to Android
-Power off the phone
-Enter Recovery Mode TWRP - Press Power+Volume Up
-Choose Install
-Find the SuperSu.zip file
-Slide to install
-Press Reboot System
