SAMSUNG looks set to release their Galaxy S8 at the start of 2016 during Mobile World Congress and rumours suggest some major updates are coming.

The exploding Galaxy Note 7 took the shine off what was set to be great year for Samsung.

The Galaxy S7 was by far the best phone of 2016 and the Note 7 was, until it was pulled from sale, an incredible device.

Now the Korean tech giant has its sights set on 2017 with the firm rumoured to be pulling out all the stops for its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone.

With its recent disaster still fresh in consumers' minds the S8 needs to be good and it appears that is exactly what Samsung is planning.

It will have been a full two years since Samsung's flagship phone underwent a major facelift and with Apple expected to be planning a radical new look for its tenth anniversary iPhone 8 in 2017, it make senses that Samsung wants to unveil something spectacular.

According to sources, Samsung's next-generation smartphone will push the boundaries of design with a new "all-display" look.

It is expected that the S8 will ditch the bezel around the display – extending the screen to the very edge of the chassis.

The glass will curve around the edge of the phone like the Galaxy S7 Edge before it, sources told BloomBerg.

The new design is rumoured to give the phone the appearance of being "all-display".

In terms of display size, the South Korean firm is expected to reprise the 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch variations seen on this year's S7 and S7 Edge.

Samsung may also do something else radical to the phone's design by dropping the physical Home Button.

This has been a feature of on all Samsung's smartphones but the new design will leave the glass on the front uninterrupted.

Along with these design changes it's all been reported that Samsung will ditch the headphone port and add a new voice assistant called Viv.

Samsung has also confirmed that it is helping out with the latest top mobile processor from Qualcomm.

Qualcomm are one of the world's biggest suppliers of chips and you'll find their brains in almost every Android phone on the market.

The next-generation chip will be called the Snapdragon 835 and it will be the most powerful Qualcomm has ever created.

Not only will the 835 be super speedy but it will also be more efficient meaning it should help performance and battery life.
