Last week, Vivo has sent out the teaser image for the launch of a new smartphone in India in September. Today, the company has confirmed to launch the Vivo V7 Plus smartphone on September 7th. The Vivo V7 Plus will be the successor to Vivo V5 Plus launched earlier this year. As of now there is no information expect the name of the device. However, the teaser image confirms the V7 Plus to sport unibody metal design with a 2.5D curved glass on the front. While Vivo will continue to offer best selfie experience with their smartphones, the upcoming V7 Plus might come with the two-sided bezel-less display.
While there is no source, we guess the smartphone to offer the display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Apart from the flagship devices, there are few affordable smartphones with 18:9 displays. While LG already launched the LG Q6 with 5.5″ Full HD+ display offering 18: aspect ration, the newly unveiled Canvas Infinity also comes with the 18:9 display but only with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution. Unlike the Vivo V5 devices, there is no physical home button beneath the display. While the fingerprint sensor is expected to be placed on the rear, there are also chances to see the under-display fingerprint sensor.
At the MWC Shanghai 2017, Vivo showcased the under-display fingerprint sensor using the Qualcomm’s technology. The smartphone will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat based FunTouch OS. The Vivo V5 Plus came with 20MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the front with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, and LED flash. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64Gb of internal storage. On the rear is a 16MP camera with PDAF and LED flash. It is backed by a 3,055mAh battery that gives a day long usage.
The V5 Plus measures 152.8 x 74.0 x 7.2 mm and weighs 158.6 grams. There are dual SIM card slots with dual standby support, but lacks the MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. While the Vivo V5 Plus was launched at Rs. 27,980 in January this year, it is now retailing at Rs. 22,990. Since the Vivo V7 Plus launch event is two weeks away, we can expect leaks in the coming days. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
